You Were Made to Shine

Happy New Year, beautiful souls! As we start 2023, may you be filled with optimism for a fresh new beginning. May this be the year in which we bravely stay true to ourselves. To consider realistic options for a new chapter in our lives. To step out of our comfort zones in order to step into our awesome strengths. I may not know you. In most cases, we haven't met face to face. Yet, today's message is to inspire you, motivate you, and to encourage you to trust that you were made to shine. Whether you believe it or not, you are here on earth for a reason. You are here to offer your incredible gifts, talents, life lessons, and wisdom with others. For such a time as this, you are being called for greatness. Even if you can't see it or you don't know where to start.

It's a new year...choose to shine brighter. Have the courage to take a leap of faith in 2023. To follow your passionate pursuits. To increase your quality of life. To improve your health; emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual. To set clear boundaries in your relationships. To reclaim your personal power, positive energy, and peace of mind. There is a saying that if you keep doing the same old thing, you will end up with the same old results. It is not beneficial to keep spinning our wheels. Of course, going in a vicious circle isn't helpful. Isn't it time for you to get unstuck? For you to become happy, healthy, and confident about your life?

Sometimes, on our healing journey, we need to try something brand new. We need to shift our perspective and attitude about our lives, our health, our relationships, our finances, and our life purpose. If we want positive changes in our lives, we must become the positive change. This is why it's essential to become the CEO of our lives; body, mind, and spirit. Even if it's a teeny tiny baby step, it is still forward movement. It is progress, which is awesome.

"The secret of change is to focus off your energy. Not on fighting the old, but on building the new." ~ Socrates

If you knew you could succeed, what would you do differently this year? What would you focus on? Perhaps, you would commit to your trauma recovery? To take a leap of faith to invest in your emotional well-being. To put in the time, energy, resources, and effort to heal your trauma wounds. Or maybe you would look for a new job, new trustworthy connections, relocate, start a family, create a healthier diet, become more physically active, redecorate your home, go back to school, write your book, or follow your wildest aspirations?

Success, happiness, peace, and healing don't happen by accident. They happen by the intention to take action. To do something new. To take a risk on YOU. To believe that anything is possible when you believe in miracles. I have experienced countless miracles in my lifetime. I guarantee, 95% of these magnificent miracles occurred after I took action to try something new. When I listened to that soft voice within me guiding me to believe in myself. When I believed in my special gifts, skills, and talents. When I believed that whatever I put my mind to, I could accomplish whatever I set out for. This has been remarkable for me and my life.

The inspiring quote up above is accurate. Nothing happens, until the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change. What is holding you back? What has prevented you from making improvements in your life, your health, your finances, and your relationships?

You are the answer, and you are the solution. Have the courage to self-reflect and to take accountability of your life, behaviors, and actions, or lack of actions. Here's some questions to ponder:

  • Have you established boundaries? If so, is it working for you? If not, are you ready to implement new boundaries in 2023?

  • Are you struggling with toxic relationships? If so, how long are you willing to suffer before taking action? What can you do to increase healthier, trustworthy, safe, compassionate connections?

  • What is your top priority in January 2023? For each of us, this will be unique since we are different people with a wide range of concerns. For some of us, our top priority will be our health. For others, what matters most is our loved ones, our career, our trauma recovery, traveling, being creative, living our life purpose, etc.

  • Is an energy of fear, guilt, or toxic shame stopping you to shine brighter? If so, please don't permit fear, guilt, or shame from sabotaging your entire existence. Kick the negative energies and emotions to the curb! Courageously, face your fears. Confront roadblocks to your happiness, peace of mind, and good health. Some people claim that we can't have faith and fear at the same time. I disagree. There's plenty of moments when I felt paralyzed by fear, yet I stepped out in faith. Even when I had no idea what the end result would be.

For those who are challenged by toxic shame, it does go hand in hand with guilt. The guilt and toxic shame may have been projected onto you by an abusive person. Usually, the guilt and toxic shame were dumped onto you as a child or adult by the perpetrator. It may have been your parent, sibling, intimate partner, spouse, church, friend, co-worker, or a stranger. If this resonates with you, here's my blog post on healing toxic shame.

Being compassionate to yourself is one of the kindest acts to do in order to let go of unhealthy emotions. Keep in mind, we are all human and imperfect. You don’t need to be perfect. You are enough just as you are today.

Dear friend, stop being afraid to stand out. You were meant to be unique. You were meant to make a difference. You were made for more. Go! Shine your light. Be who you were made to be.

You Were Made to Shine

You are unique. There is no one exactly like you. Regardless of where you come from, your race, your education, your religious or spiritual beliefs, your gender, age, or financial status, you are a rare and precious gem. Like a diamond, you may have been through the fire. It could have been a season of refinement. You may have experienced hellish ordeals and traumatic events. Instead of fixating on "Why me?" ask yourself, "What did this experience teach me? How can I use this to gain more insight and to make positive improvements?" Although the refinement isn't easy or comfortable, there is a higher purpose for it. To stretch you. To build your character. To test your faith. To consider if you need to let go of people, places, or things that have deeply hurt you. Lastly, a refinement may prompt you to look at the whole picture. To understand the trials you went through. Despite your hardships, to learn how to persevere and not let anything stop you from brighter days.

A new day is dawning. Rise up! Shine on, brave warrior. It's time to release the old so you can begin something new. Are you ready for a fresh new start?

Your breakthrough in 2023 is on the other side of healing. It is like a precious gift to you. For a new lease on life, health, happiness, abundance, and second chances. To welcome new, exciting opportunities for personal, professional, and spiritual growth.

Life is short. Stop waiting for the perfect moment to make positive improvements. For you only have this very moment. It's up to you to make this present moment count. You were made for so much more. You were made to have the dreams you're afraid of having. You were made to do things that you don't think you're qualified for. Remember that God/Source doesn't call the equipped. Instead, a Higher Power will equip those who are called.

"Never underestimate the power of a person who is healing their trauma. This person has been through the darkest places that the world has to offer and is still standing before you committed to seeing the light." ~ Author Unknown You were made to be the light. You were born to shine bright. Cheers to 2023 being your most brilliant year ever!
