Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Coaching: Emotional Support to Heal Your Trauma

Narcissistic abuse is painful and insidious. Oftentimes, the narcissist is so cunning, clever, and manipulative that most victims are not aware of what is taking place. As a daughter of a narcissistic mother, I truly understand how traumatic the experience is. I know firsthand what it is like to be bullied into silence. I know the deep anguish of coming to the conscious reality that my own mother deliberately aimed to harm me, gaslight me, criticize me, harshly judge me, and mentally abuse me. Not just once or twice, but for over fifty decades of my lifetime.
I know how badly the betrayal stings. Like when my toxic siblings became our narcissistic, mother's flying monkeys; AKA abuse by proxy. I have been there and I have walked the dark path to finally break free from narcissistic abuse and a dysfunctional family of origin. If there is anyone who can really "get it" and who can validate what you have suffered, it is me. My personal experience with narcissistic abuse is what has led me to become a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach (CTRC) who specializes in narcissistic abuse recovery.
Another reason why I pursued CTRC is based on my personal experience with therapists. It is unfortunate that so many licensed therapists lack knowledge, education, and experience in narcissistic personality disorder. In 2018, after I had gone no contact with my narcissistic mother, flying monkey siblings, and their families, I had sought counseling with a therapist. After three months of therapy, I came to realize that my therapist was not trauma-informed and she was oblivious about narcissistic abuse.
When she dished out destructive advice, claiming that I should "play nice" and contact each of my family members, I stood firm in my healthy boundaries. Truth be told, her advise made it crystal clear that she had no idea about what I had suffered. She didn't understand gaslighting, smear campaigns, retaliation, hoovering, love-bombing, or triangulation of relationships. Most importantly, my therapist didn't understand narcissistic abuse, nor anything pertaining to it.
Therefore, her counseling was not only ineffective for me, but it was actually harmful. A mental health professional should NEVER tell an abuse survivor to contact the malicious people who abused you. This is dangerous, unethical, and unprofessional.
Following this horrifying experience with a therapist, I did what I know best. I became my own counselor. I became my own doctor. I became my own advocate. And I did extensive research to gain wisdom, facts, and education about narcissistic personality disorder.
Through time, research, and gaining insight about everything relating to narcissistic abuse, I was able to understand what happened to me. I learned about scapegoating, NPD, covert tactics, the silent treatment, narcissistic supply, and how to build better boundaries. I guarantee you, I know the facts about everything involving narcissistic abuse and how it deeply and negatively impacts our lives.
During this same time, I created hundreds of videos on my YouTube channel to help other scapegoats to understand what they were dealing with and to support them along their healing journey. My most popular YouTube videos are about the toxic family unit, how flying monkeys do the dirty work of the narcissist, toxic siblings, family estrangement, and what happens when your narcissistic parent is elderly, ill, or dying. To catch you up to speed, I am currently on a YouTube break. One reason why is because after being a YouTuber for 11 years, I have reached a point in which my coaching business is flourishing. It has become so busy that I must focus on my clients who do come first as my top priority. Also, I stepped away from YouTube because in my public life, it no longer serves me to keep talking about the same thing over and over. In my personal life, I want to relish a new season in which I have more privacy.
What amazes me is that for the past eight months of working as a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach, every single one of my clients have suffered narcissistic abuse. This is the common theme for each of my clients. In addition, it is common for many of my clients to have Complex PTSD/PTSD, chronic illness, an autoimmune disorder, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, triggers, flashbacks, nightmares, and ongoing challenges with the fight, flight, freeze, or fawn response. Please know that it isn't about what's wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you, dear soul. Rather, it is about what HAPPENED to you; abuse and trauma.
For some of my clients, they were daughter's of a narcissistic mother. For others, they were married to or intimately involved with a malignant narcissist. In other cases, it was a narcissistic boss, co-worker, or friend. Any which way we look at it, they're lives were turned upside down. It was like a tsunami ripped through every facet of their lives. Narcissistic abuse has impacted their:
Mental health
Physical health
Finances
Self-esteem
Safety
Spiritual health
Relationships
Ability to function
Sense of self-worth
Reputation
Career
Parenting their children
Sleep
Brain function
Ability to trust others
Copying mechanisms
Trauma response
If you have experienced narcissistic abuse, it is crucial to seek emotional support from a trauma-informed expert who has personal and professional experience in narcissistic abuse. As a survivor and as a mental health professional who specializes in narcissistic abuse recovery, I see you, I hear you, and I understand what you have suffered.
Whether the narcissist is your parent, sibling, spouse, or intimate partner, boss, or someone else, in our coaching sessions you will learn how to identify and break free from their cruel schemes. This includes psychoeducation and learning:
· Narcissistic Personality Disorder & Signs of Abuse
· Flying monkeys & Abuse by Proxy
· Manipulation & Gaslighting
· Stonewalling & Being Silenced
· Retaliation & Smear Campaigns
· Complex PTSD & PTSD
· How to Set Healthy Boundaries
· Trauma Symptoms & Healing Strategies
· Holistic Modalities & Somatic Embodiment
· Regulating your nervous system
The million-dollar question: How can we stop narcissistic abuse? First, you talk about it. You tell your true story. You make noise about it so other victims can learn the reality of what they went through. You help them to not feel so alone.
Then, together with a clearer, stronger voice, we demand that this form of abuse be recognized by the rest of the world - starting with mental health professionals. And some of us were already told by so-called professionals that we need to "just get over it," to "just move on," and we were advised to "pray harder, try harder, and play nice with the toxic abusers." (These are red flags that are screaming for your attention to avoid these types of mental health professionals.)
Continued ignorance of narcissistic abuse is UNACCEPTABLE, UNETHICAL, and HARMFUL. Hopefully someday, we can enjoy a world where narcissistic abuse can become extinct because their narcissistic supply has been depleted. But it isn't going to happen by itself.
Survivors of narcissistic abuse have to make a stand. Our voices need heard. Our stories must be told. And eventually our world will come to hear us, believe us, validate us, protect us, and help to make our planet a safer place filled with love, peace, respect, and compassion.
Whether you choose to stay in contact with the narcissist, to grey rock, or to go full no contact, that is up to you. As my client, I respect you and your decisions. Only you can determine what is healthy, safe, and best for you. As your Certified Trauma Recovery Coach for Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Coaching, I give you sacred space to unpack your trauma in a nonjudgmental way. I listen to you, attune to you, and honor wherever you are at in your recovery process.
Due to how insidious and traumatic narcissistic abuse is, I highly recommend my potential clients to invest in a minimum of one month coaching with me via Zoom. However, I believe that those who invest in their healing journey for the long haul, such as three months, is going to get more out of it and have more effective results. Similar to therapy, there is no quick fix. Narcissistic abuse recovery is not an overnight success. Instead, it takes plenty of time, patience, energy, honesty, and courage to face your trauma wounds. Simply stated, one month of Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Coaching is a BEGINNING to your healing journey; not a final destination. The reason why is because there are dozens of layers of trauma. Please give yourself extra TLC. Would you expect to be "cured" by a therapist in four counseling sessions? No. Would you expect to be fully healed after only being in therapy for one month? No. Therefore, please understand that with one-on-one Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Coaching, it will significantly benefit you to consider working with me as your coach for more than four sessions. What do my coaching clients have to say about this? Here's a few praise reports from my clients who have raved about my coaching skills, experience, and how it has benefited their healing journey:

Dana’s huge heart for survivors, reflected in her empathy and heart-felt compassion, is validating in and of itself.
