I Am Not What Happened To Me

Despite my narcissistic abuse, child abuse, and sexual assaults, I don't want pity. Every single life experience, positive and negative, taught me valuable lessons. My Complex PTSD is not what's wrong with me. Instead, it is a normal and common response to compounded abuse and trauma. I embrace the gift of grace.
Valuable life lessons gave me more wisdom, courage, and hope. It helped to give me the ability to choose a higher path of healing.
Regardless of my compounded trauma, I am the one who made myself stronger. I am doing the hard work of healing.
One day at a time. One breath at a time. One act of self-compassion at a time.
I'm not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become.
I choose to gain wisdom, knowledge, and personal growth. I choose empathy, kindness, peace, and love.
The most empowering experience is choosing to face the truth and expand ourselves to become a better person. This is what makes our world a beautiful place.
