I am in awe. Recently, I had an epiphany. Everything that I have professionally and personally experienced in my life has come full circle.

As a trauma survivor, I have connected all of the dots. I clearly see that for such a time as this, I am called to offer hope and healing to other survivors.

Trauma is like a puzzle. It takes time to find each piece. As we awaken to our reality of the unspeakable things we’ve suffered, we can give ourselves grace to process our pain. As we unravel the mystery of what had transpired, each piece of the puzzle can reveal a beautiful healing journey.

As I reflect on my past two decades of my trauma recovery, it’s remarkable how I have been working with trauma survivors for 21 years in various capacities. In 2000, as a licensed beauty expert, I specialized in camouflage makeup for burn survivors and women battling cancer. This led me to be trained inside a trauma unit in effort to help people to look and feel better about their physical appearance. To transform their scars into confidently being

a brave warrior.

In 2002, I graduated from Surgical Technician school and worked in the trauma unit, cosmetic surgery, as well as general surgery. This hands-on work experience gave me a new appreciation for trauma survivors and their

recovery process.

Fast forward to 2011 when I became a speaker on my YouTube channel. While my videos may have evolved through the years, it has directly led to courageously talk about child abuse, sexual assaults, Complex PTSD, dysfunctional families, narcissistic abuse, healthy boundaries, the healing journey, and holistic health.

In 2017, after the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal went viral, I found the strength to share my #MeToo story. Essentially, it helped me to find my own voice, to advocate for survivors, to build awareness, and to link arms as we became stronger together.

From 2013 through 2020, I worked as a life coach and a writing coach. I found a great need for trauma survivors to learn how to heal by writing their stories. In 2020, I offered group coaching to trauma survivors in an effort to help them learn memoir writing and the power of storytelling.

In 2020, I launched my memoir, Soul Cry: Releasing & Healing the Wounds of Trauma. This was my real and raw story. It was by far the most liberating and therapeutic experience for me.

As my work history has come full circle, it is no surprise that new doors of opportunity have opened for me to step onto a new path. I am so excited to return to school to become a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach! To be able to give practical tools to women survivors and encourage them to go from barely surviving to thriving.

Everything makes logical sense. My soul mission has always been to work with trauma survivors. To be the voice that awakens courage in others. To help hurting souls not feel so alone. It is humbling and an honor to be part of your trauma recovery. It makes my heart sing!
