Never underestimate that if God calls you to do something He will equip you to complete it. Seriously, I'm in total awe with my Heavenly Father who happens to move steep mountains on behalf of me! Who could fathom that three little words spoken by God were intended for a book? Not just any book, but my non-fiction book to share my own hardships in life and how I rose above adversity?
Who could comprehend the words, Harvest of Hope, would be turned into a memoir and then used for a devotional book? It gives me tingles straight down my spine just thinking about how God had already predestined from the beginning of time my purpose in life was to give others healing, health, and hope.
That He used my own suffering and pain to reach out and minister to those who are in a similar situation. The Lord took a broken vessel who had no hope (me) and dramatically changed my life from the inside out. How very humbling to come to the realization there's a higher purpose for our pain. It's not to harm us, but to build our character, draw us closer to God, and strengthen our own faith. Not only that, but it's main purpose is to use our unique voice to make a positive difference in the world around us.
These past two years of writing my devotional, I've really grown as an author. When I began editing my earlier work, I was shocked to see how far I've come. At least half of my book has been revised, deleted, or updated with brand new content. It's exciting to watch God work behind the scenes and show me exactly what messages I need to share in each daily devotion.
Some of the days are brand new content, while others are bits of my story shared in my memoir, Harvest of Hope: Living Victoriously Through Adversity. It only made sense to keep the same title for my new book, except to add that it's a 50 Day Devotional. The book cover is the same image, but my awesome graphic designer, Christine Dupre, has changed the shade. Truth be told, I love my devotional book cover the best!
This month, my focus is on editing and preparing for my book launch in Fall 2014. It's been quite a rewarding journey and I so look forward to the completion! Stay tune for my book release...
