For over one year, I've been writing my memoir about overcoming adversity. Along my writing journey, I've had teachable moments. To learn. Grow. Deepen my trust in God.
To not just write about rising above hardship, but to confront opposition head on. It's as if the Lord is walking me through the refiners fire to mold me, stretch me, and to reveal that by His grace His strength is sufficient.
No matter what I endure, from minor mishaps to major upheavals, God is still right by my side. Softly He whispers, "Trust Me and lean not on your own understanding."
Sometimes Christ will strip you of all control to demonstrate the only one to lean on is HIM. When you can't rely on yourself or anyone else to get you out of a jam. When you're brought to your very knees trembling in fear and uncertainty.
While Jesus is most certainly taking me out of my comfort zone, He's providing teachable moments to reveal His omnipotent power. To test my faith when adversity strikes. He's not only bringing me to a place where I'm lacking and feeling ill-equipped, He's waiting with open arms to rescue me.
It's during these teachable moments when my Heavenly Father catches me before I fall. When He picks me up gently, brushes me off, and sets me upon straight paths.
This is when I see how much He has brought me through and how it's strengthened me. To live fully. To love completely. To never lose sight of hope.
Most of all, to know beyond a shadow of doubt that God is who He says He is.
He is my solid rock. He is worthy. He is eternally faithful.
