Most people don’t want to make changes. They resist it. And they don't want to be changed. It can mean giving something up. Walking into the unknown. Or having no guarantees.
Yet, if we desire positive changes, we must bravely move forward. We need to try something new. To take a leap of faith. To understand that when we do so it can lead to amazing outcomes.
The author, Mark Batterson, who wrote the book, The Circle Maker: Praying Circles Around Your Biggest Dreams and Greatest Fears, said, “You are one decision away from a totally different life.”
I love the best how author Nicholas Sparks encouraged us to change in his drama/romance movie, The Choice. He said, “Life is about decisions, little, seemingly insignificant decisions that clear the road from monster truck life altering decisions. Every path you take leads to another choice and some choices can change everything.”
So what’s holding you back? Why are you resisting change? Fear? Doubt? Lack of faith? Money? Other people? Or you don't want to leave your comfort zone?
Over seven years ago when I reached a fork in the road, when my life was on the brink of death, when I had lost all hope, I did what scared me most. I made a change. A big change. An intimating change. A life altering change.
In the midst of medical madness, I stopped conventional medicine. One prescription at a time. I decided to try something new. This led me to experience dietary changes that would enhance my health. Going gluten-free. Eliminating dairy, fake foods, fast foods, and harsh chemicals contained inside food. The more I remained consistent, the more I experienced positive results.
One change led to another change. And I joyfully embraced natural alternatives. It opened up a whole new world for me. Herbal medicine and tea. Pure essential oils. Plant-based supplements. Homeopathy. Professional massage therapy. Acupuncture. Infrared light therapy. Gently stretching and exercises.
The important part was not about it failing or succeeding. What mattered most was that I took action. That I tried something new. That I was willing to travel a sacred wandering.
The truth about my healing journey is that God was next to me during the entire trek. When I battled wicked withdrawals from potent medicine, God was there. When I felt like I was dying, Jesus reminded me that He understood human suffering. When I didn’t think I could go on, Christ carried me.
As I reflect today on how I got from that nightmare to finally experiencing a positive breakthrough, I realized that it wasn’t by accident. By the grace of God and by taking daily action with holistic options, my health was dramatically turned around for good.
In March, 2018, when I made a decision to try something new, it opened up another door to bring forth more healing. This sacred plant, CBD oil made from hemp, has therapeutic properties. Today is my one month anniversary of starting it. The great news is that I’ve experienced awesome changes from day 1 through day 30.
My disabling migraines have greatly diminished. My brain fog has lifted. My wacky hormones have calmed down. My moods have greatly increased. My itchy rash from food allergies disappeared. My low lumbar pain and inflammation is significantly reduced. There's more clarity and focus. And the best news of all, I’m finally sleeping!
Had I not made the decision to try organic CBD oil, which is legal in all 50 states, I highly doubt that I would have experienced such a phenomenal improvement in my overall health. It was a choice. I took another chance on me. I made healthy changes. Hands down, it was worth it!
Right now, I may not know what you are currently struggling with. It may be depression, anxiety, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, or chronic pain. Today, I encourage you to consider one possible change for yourself.
To bravely step into the unknown. To be willing to try something new. If you want positive changes, to seek a transformation. Because on the other side of being stuck is being victorious.
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)
