Initially, I didn't think much of it. In the back of my mind I thought, "Who am I to tell others about these dreams? I'm no one special. I am not a pastor or theologian."
So I kept quiet. I never shared my bizarre dreams. And deep down inside, I was a bit intimidated and fearful of them.
But last year, I was slammed with one dream after another. Many of them repeated the same messages over and over. Persecuted Christians. Severe destruction and natural disasters in our world. Fierce enemy attacks. Believers who must take a stand for their faith even in the face of losing their lives.
I didn't want to believe it. How could I, an ordinary wife and mom living a middle class life, be gifted with prophesy? Just the idea of it was over the top. Totally crazy!
Following graphic dreams that were strikingly similar, crystal clear, and detailed with much symbolism, God grabbed my attention. I sensed Him directing me to write and speak about my dreams. That I mustn't be silent.
I couldn't deny that my dreams had a serious message behind them. It overwhelmed me with a responsibility to share it. To embrace my prophetic gift. To bravely share my dreams with anyone willing to listen.
Last year, I was led to boldly record my prophetic dream and download it to YouTube. My goal was to share what I believed the Lord prompted me to speak about. And to my surprise, my YouTube video immediately caught everyone's attention. Thousands upon thousands of people viewed my video, shared their own prophetic dreams, or wrote comments.
Currently, my YouTube video, Prophetic End of Times Dream 2016, has over 7.2 K views, with 95 likes, and 46 comments. Apparently, people are interested in the end of times as well as prophetic dreams. Had I known that others would be intrigued with these topics, I would have recorded my personal experiences sooner.
In the meanwhile, I had another prophetic dream. This time, it was super creepy. I was at my childhood friend's home, which is over 100 years old. In my dream, my friend Barb and her family were not present. Instead, there were about five or six adults, including myself, who were upstairs in Barb's bedroom. We walked from her room to her younger brother's bedroom that was across the hall.
After chatting among ourselves in which nothing specific stood out in the conversation, we strolled back into Barb's bedroom. In my dream, we suspected her house was haunted. It had an overall eerie and strange aura. It had all of us on edge.
Within seconds of returning to Barb's room, we were gathered near the entrance and we were quiet. Out of nowhere, the drawers in the dresser randomly flew open and closed by itself. We were standing approximately four feet from the dresser. Each of us were blown away by what we observed!
Immediately, I started praying. Out loud, I rebuked and cast out the evil spirits. I felt the ominous presence of demons around us. Although I couldn't visually see it with my eyes, I felt a chill run up my spine as the hairs on my arms stood up.
During my petition to take authority over the demonic spirits, my voice faltered. Physically, I became tired and weary. It was as if Satan placed a spell on me. I could hardly speak or move. Instantly, it filled me with fear. I felt overpowered and helpless.
This was a spiritual battle of warfare. God reminds us in His Word to stay aware of the devil's schemes. "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." (Ephesians 6:11-13 NIV)
In my dream, my sister, Doreen, walked over to Barb's closet. She positioned herself onto all fours and crawled towards the back of the closet. It's unclear what she was searching for, but I knew she was looking for something.
Coming from inside the closet, I could hear Doreen shriek loudly. She yelled to us saying, "There's a rat in here!" Moving quickly, she crawled outside of the closet.
In my dream, I couldn't see the rat. But I knew the rat was there because my sister said so. In reality, we don't always visually see the evil forces within a spiritual realm. Yet it doesn't minimize the power of darkness in the world around us.
In addition, it doesn't take a theology degree to figure out that a rat is a bad omen. Rats represent underhanded behaviors, people, or situations. Rats reflect lying, cheating, and stealing.
In other words, the rat is symbolic for the enemy who wants to deceive us. The Bible clearly demonstrates the motive of the devil. "The thief enters only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came so that they could have life - indeed, so that they could live life to the fullest." (John 10:10 CEBA)
At this point, my dream ended. When I awoke, I documented the vivid details and my impression of the core message. As mentioned up above, I do believe some of my dreams are a prophetic gift from God. This one in particular was a warning to other believers to be on the alert for spiritual warfare. Most importantly, to arm yourself with God's Word.
For those who aren't into religion, the Bible, or a relationship with Jesus, I still think there's insight for you to consider. Even if you dispute that Jesus died on the cross and that He's real, it doesn't lessen the magnitude of supernatural forces and miracles happening everywhere. For non-believers, I strongly recommend that you watch the movie, "The Case for Christ."
It's a true account of an atheist, Lee Strobel, who was dead-set on confirming that Jesus didn't die on the cross and disproving the claims of Christianity. I admired the tenacity and thorough research of Lee Strobel who didn't leave one single stone unturned. I give this true story two thumbs up!
As for my prophetic dream about spiritual warfare, here's my take away that I've gained from it:
Whether you are a believer or non-believer, the enemy will stir up trouble in your life. It's not "if" or "maybe." Rather, you should expect it and prepare ahead for it.
He is especially threatened by those people who are actively sharing the love of Christ. If you are on fire for the Lord, if your purpose is to give hope to the hopeless, or if your calling is in any form of ministry or faith-based business, the devil aims to dismantle you, your purpose, your influence, your relationships, your productivity, your health, your finances, and your success.
Today, if the heat is up and the spiritual attacks are coming in every direction, it is a clear sign that you are on the right path. Satan is scared to death of you and what you're doing! He's testing you and trying to weaken your faith.
My friends, do not back down. Do not be silenced. Never bow down to the enemy. Instead, arm yourself with God's Word. Speak it out loud. Declare authority over everything precious to you. Surround yourself around prayer, worship, and those who are like-minded people who support you.
Lastly, trust that you are chosen, you are called, you are handpicked by God for such a time as this. He will equip you, shield you, protect you, and give you His power to walk in victory.
Have you recently experienced spiritual warfare? Or have you ever had prophetic dreams? If so, please comment and share about it.
