From day one, I've noticed a positive difference. There's been more focus, clarity, and motivation. After battling migraines and having to put my dreams on hold, I'm thrilled to have inspiration to get back to writing my fourth book!
What most of my friends didn't know was that I'd been struggling badly with health concerns. In October, 2016, for no known reason, I began experiencing migraines. I'm not referring to an ordinary headache. Rather, I mean full-blown, disabling migraines.
The kind that puts you down for the count. The kind that lands you in bed all day. The kind that wreaks havoc in your plans. The kind that hurts like someone is drilling into your skull and you feel like you're dying.
For those who may not have experienced this, I'm referring to migraines that involve excruciating pain. It entails serious pressure to my temples, forehead, and nape of my neck. The pain would gradually become so intense that I would experience nausea, dizziness, vomiting, body aches, and chills. (For those who are second guessing this, I want to state that this wasn't the flu, a virus, or a 24 hour bug.)
I was forced to remain home and in bed. Yet I couldn't sleep, due to the high degree of physical agony. My head was pounding and throbbing like a toothache. Even worse, if I cried, my migraine became fierce.
In my experience, it was never just a one day thing. Instead, the migraines would last up to five days long. My migraines became chronic. A nagging reminder that something wasn't quite right, but I didn't know how to resolve it.
Of course, I tried with all my might to conquer these stubborn migraines. Seven months ago, I started taking magnesium, vitamin B2, and using essential oils in the hope that it would reduce my pain. When that wasn't successful, I began using extra strength turmeric supplements, which is an herb that can decrease inflammation.
When this failed, I radically changed my diet. I stopped consuming chocolate since it's a common trigger for migraines. I read that drinking caffeine in the morning was helpful for migraines so I started each morning with a cup of coffee. The verdict is still out on this. In my own case, there was not always a rhyme or reason for my migraines.
This led me to consider my hormones. I started using natural progesterone cream topically because I learned that it could play a role in women who get migraines. Based on the fact that I believe synthetic hormones have more cons than benefits, I opted to not go that route.
While the weather may impact migraines, depending on the dreaded barometric pressure, the bottom line with that issue is we have zero control over it. Therefore, I couldn't permit myself to get caught up in stressing out because it was rainy, damp, or the barometric pressure was sky rocketing.
We have to pick and choose our battles wisely. I chose to become proactive. To focus on what I could control versus not what I couldn't.
Despite a doctor's visit to seek real solutions for this real concern, I reached a dead end. My doctor didn't have a logical explanation for my chronic migraines. Nor did she have a gentle remedy to prevent it, reduce the pain, or cure me from this brutal suffering.
Where did that leave me? It left me to wing it on my own. To take responsibility for my health. To not give up hope. To have a goal to seek a natural way to heal migraines without harsh drugs.
When we take a closer look at migraines and how it influences a person's life, we can't tip toe around the devastating consequences. Truly, it sabotages one's ability to work, care for their home, care for their family, and get anything accomplished. Migraines can be incapacitating.
While I may not have had migraines as long as other people, it doesn't minimize that migraines brought my life to a screeching halt. I couldn't think straight, I suffered brain fog, and I could no longer follow my passion for writing. Unless someone has similar issues in which they lose their quality of life, the average person has no idea what a nightmare it is for the individual who is suffering.
My turning point happened in April 2017. For several months, a friend of mine who had sustained a brain injury last fall was experiencing positive results with a plant-based natural product. Not just any supplement, I must add. This little yellow pill with pure ingredients has been medically proven to reduce oxidative stress by 40%.
It's an effective anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant benefits. The major difference in this pill compared to the other holistic products on the market is that this can help our cells to produce their own antioxidants in effort to repair our cells and rejuvenate our cells.
After doing thorough research, I decided to try the little yellow pill. My personal experience with it has been nothing short of a supernatural miracle! Currently, I am 37 days FREE from migraines. This is an amazing breakthrough!
I may not know you or what you're going through, but I do know that life is too short to be sick and suffering. For those with troubling health concerns, perhaps this is what you've been praying for? Why suffer when there is hope for healing?
