Today isn't quite one solid week, yet I've already experienced a brighter mood by focusing on love! So far, I have shared mostly what I personally love, such as walking barefoot on the beach or that amazing moment when God reawakens my dreams.
Let's delve a little deeper into love and how it pertains to our lives. Genuine love is a verb. It requires two or more to actively participate in a relationship. Love is an action word; something we express and we do. It is not simply romance or emotions. It's behaviors. It's a choice. It requires involvement, risk, and the chance of loss.
Authentic love is worth the time, energy, and dedication to keep the flame burning bright. Here's the Bible's demonstration of love in action: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)
Today, do not merely think about love. Instead, actively do something to demonstrate your love for someone. Hug a little longer. Send a thoughtful card to someone who has loved you through thick and thin. Whip up your sweethearts favorite dish. Cuddle your children and spend quality time doing what they love to do. Visit your elderly parent who is lonely. Unplug from your phone, look your partner in the eyes, and have a stimulating conversation that's uplifting. #28DaysOfLove #LoveIsAVerb
