One month ago, I sensed God stirring a new book for me to write. To my surprise, the story involved pornography and adultery within a Christian marriage. Of course, I was caught off guard and not feeling the least bit comfortable writing on such an intense topic.
I mean, lets be real over here, why would I venture out to write about sex when I ordinarily write about hope, persevering, and faith? In complete dismay, I prayed about it asking God, "Why are you taking me so far outside my comfort zone?"
I sensed God responding, "Why not? My redeeming grace covers you." Trusting God's lead, I began praying and seeking His direction for my book. Most importantly, I wanted to gain clarity on whether it should be a fiction or a nonfiction.
Following a women's conference, Imagine: The Power of Prayer, God made it crystal clear that he doesn't want my book to be a fiction. Simply said, He isn't calling me to entertain, He's calling me to give others hope.
Therefore, I'm moving forward to write a nonfiction titled, Buried Secrets, Broken Vows: Hope & Healing For Marriages Shattered By Sexual Sin. Seriously, this is stretching me farther than ever before. Yet I trust He has a higher purpose for my writing on such a burdensome topic that is negatively impacting so many marriages.
In effort to gain more insight on Internet pornography and adultery within our Christian community, I've created a free survey where participants will remain anonymous to protect their identity. I need your help and I'm asking that you would consider taking my survey. Here's the criteria to be eligible to take the survey:
1. You are married
2. You are divorced
3. You are separated
For those who do complete my survey, thank you so very much and I truly appreciate it.
