It means to quit or to give up. Have you ever thought your situation was so hopeless that the only thing you could possibly do was quit and never look back?
Every day people go through the toughest trials. Sometimes, it’s so difficult that they don’t know whether to give up or to stand up and take the victory.
Whenever I’m experiencing oppositions, I try to remember how God used it for something good. That despite my challenges and frustrations, the Lord miraculously turned it around in a positive way. If He did it then, He can do it, again.
There’s countless times when God has come to my rescue. Even when I was a rebellious woman in my early 20’s and making poor decisions.
He rescued me from burglars who crashed through my glass window to steal an expensive stereo. Our "stuff" can be replaced. Our lives can't. I have no doubt that God protected me.
He rescued me from losing my unborn child during my second trimester. He miraculously healed her in my womb.
He rescued me from a rocky marriage with a husband addicted to alcohol, drugs, and gambling. He miraculously healed my husband and set him free!
He rescued me from wicked withdrawals with potent prescriptions. He used the worst medical mishap and graciously used it as a stepping stone to become a published author. That in itself was nothing short of a supernatural phenomena.
The lessons learned from each trial is that no matter how many times we may go through adversity, we are not alone. God is with us. He will come to our rescue.
Today, if you’re facing storms in life, do not give up. Don’t throw in the towel. Cling to hope! Trust that Christ will protect you and strengthen you.
“The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:18 (ESV)
