As I draw near to crossing the finish line to launch my non-fiction, I can most definitely say that the person I was at the beginning of this book (early 2015) is no longer the woman that I am today. The truth is that change and growth is essential to progress through life. Although it may not feel comfortable when it's happening, transitions and major shifts can place us onto the right path at the right time to step into the exact place where God calls us to be.
At this point, I'm eating, drinking, and sleeping with my book on the forefront of my mind. It's like I am birthing a precious baby and preparing for her delivery. As you can only imagine, I am ecstatic! While each of my other books were also such a huge endeavor for me and I worked hard on each of them, I sense this current book has reshaped who I am as a woman, entrepreneur, and passionate believer of vibrant health.
As I wrote about being transformed physically, emotionally, and spiritually, God truly began to open up my eyes to view our world in a new way. To dive in deep to my own spirituality and to see that my faith is not about religion, a building, or following a set of strict rules. Instead, my faith and spirituality are about connecting intimately, one on one, to my Heavenly Creator.
It's in our every day ordinary lives when we wash dishes, stand in line at the bank, and go about our regular routines when God shows up. When He uses simple things, such as a beautiful butterfly meandering in our back yard, to speak to us and bring calm to our storm. It's the soft cry of a newborn, gentle pitter-patter of raindrops, and walking barefoot along the ocean when Christ comes to life and reveals Himself to us.
When I take a step back to reflect, I stand in awe as I clearly see the big picture. I am exactly where I am meant to be. To passionately empower, educate, and equip people from all walks of life to be transformed. To come alongside those who may need encouragement and motivation to keep walking their walk no matter how dark or dreary. To never give up hope on your health, your body, your faith, and most certainly never give up on yourself.
Yes, it may take some hard work, time, and money to get where you dream to be, but YOU are worth it! You owe it to yourself to invest in what matters most to you. To invest in your health because your future is depending on it. To invest in self-care because we each need to nurture ourselves in order to thrive. When we take good care of ourselves (physically, emotionally, & spiritually), we are able to take better care of our loved ones and meet their needs.
Today, think about realistic ways in which you can improve your own self. What can you do on your own with what you have right now in order to promote wellness? Whether it's a baby step or one gigantic leap, go out there and make it happen. Take daily action steps to transform your entire life from ordinary to become extraordinary!
