Over 30 years ago, I injured my low lumbar area. Following countless accidents and unexpected falls, like the time I was in my 20's and slipped down an entire staircase wearing a dress and all eyes were upon me, I have endured quite a history of crazy mishaps. Good grief, talk about public humiliation!
Of course, there's never been a dull moment in my life. In 2006 through 2007, I experienced nonstop pain. One medical test after another had revealed that I had herniated discs, scoliosis, and inflammation. As a licensed beauty expert, it became nearly impossible to stand long hours on my feet or do lots of bending and lifting.
By January 2008, when my pain level became significantly worse, my orthopedic surgeon had me go to physical therapy. I had high hopes of getting better. Unfortunately, that wasn't how this played out.
Instead, my muscles, bones, and body throbbed with excruciating pain. This led me to see a rhuematologist. On my first examination, this specialist diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. He said that my back pain was the least of my worries. Then he handed me a prescription claiming it would help me sleep.
Strangely, the medication kept me wired, yet tired. Due to negative side effects, I stopped taking this drug. For one year, I tried to avoid pharmaceutical medicine. I preferred to go a natural route.
So I tried the Guaifenesin Protocal, which was created by a doctor. It involved eliminating a long list of herbs, essential oils, and natural ingredients. Despite my time and effort, this method didn't work for me. And my aches and pains were so intense that I eventually resigned from the beauty industry.
In January 2009, I bit the bullet and agreed to take Cymbalta. Back in those early days, they didn't have anything on the prescription paperwork or website state that it had a Black Box Warning. I was completely unaware of the potential of this medicine harming people. Or that many innocent folks had lost their lives to that harsh chemical.
Within four short months of taking Cymbalta, I experienced horrific side effects. Suddenly, I didn't recognize my own self. I became plagued with depression. It was like a dark cloud hung over me. I couldn't get out of bed.
My bubbly personality changed in the blink of an eye. I became hostile, angry, and had severe anxiety. My pain wasn't as bad, but the other symptoms were horrible. So I asked my neurologist to help taper my Cymbalta. Rather than extend assistance, she dismissed me as her patient. Just like that!
Despite my effort to gradually wean off of Cymbalta, it failed miserably. Truly, patients need the help of medical professionals to slowly lower their dosage. Without this form of assistance, it left me to "wing it" on my own. Of course, this sky rocketed my pain level overnight!
After begging my family physician to taper me from Cymbalta, she informed me that she couldn't. She claimed that she wasn't at liberty to do so. However, she did agree to decrease my dose of Cymbalta from 60 mg down to 30 mg. It wasn't what I had in mind, but what options did I have?
For the next 1 1/2 years, I was on a mission to find a doctor who would help me to taper Cymbalta. It was much more difficult than I had imagined. Going from doctor to doctor always led me right back to a dead end. Not one single physician, including the emergency room doctor, would agree to help me taper this medicine.
Why is it that doctors are so quick to hand out prescriptions, yet they refuse to taper patients from toxic drugs? How come our medical industry is oblivious to this medication madness, especially in America? And why are they in complete denial about the devastating side effects and dire implications of these drugs?
In my own case, from 2009 through 2011, one doctor after another prescribed me countless medicine. And what they didn't tell me was that Cymbalta severely interacted with all of the other drugs. It increased the serotonin in my body to a dangerous level. It dramatically damaged my central nervous system and neurotransmitters.
After being slammed with toxic prescriptions that went haywire, my health spun out of control. In November 2010, I nearly lost my life, due to the long-term consequences of Cymbalta. This was my first admission into the hospital. And all they did was switch one drug for another drug. Not exactly ideal, nor the correct solution.
In January, 2011, I landed in the hospital for a second time. This is when my health took a nose dive straight to hell. When I experienced wicked withdrawals from medicine that was abruptly stopped by the physician in the hospital. The rest of my story can be found in my memoir, Harvest of Hope: Living Victoriously Through Adversity.
I am no stranger to excruciating pain. Or to anxiety, depression, and hitting rock bottom. At the end of January 2011, I knew that conventional medicine was an epic fail. There had to be another way. A gentler method to decrease pain and inflammation without potent prescriptions. To heal without disastrous side effects, such as suicidal ideation.
My wellness journey led me onto a new pathway. To clean up my diet. To go gluten-free and dairy-free. To use plant-based herbs and supplements made from nature. To discover pure essential oils. One by one, each holistic option slowly improved my health.
Through time, patience, consistency, my body started to heal. I guarantee, it was not an overnight miracle. It most certainly wasn't within one year. Instead, the ability to take back control over my own body and mind was quite a lengthy, drawn out process. But it was worth it!
I've come a long, long way in my wellness journey. But it doesn't mean that I'm "cured" of herniated discs, Advanced Degenerative Disc Disease, Fibromyalgia, or depression. What it does mean is that I've significantly reduced my symptoms through a healthy lifestyle.
I've gone from disabled and home bound to become independent and an author, speaker, and wellness advocate. I'm passionate about helping others have hope, healing, and health improvements!
Last month, I had concern for some lingering pain and inflammation. So I took a leap of faith and began using Hempworx CBD oil and Relief Cream. Prior to ordering it, I did plenty of research. My standards for natural wellness are quite high. I will only use ingredients that are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, and organic.
Either, the ingredients are clean and pure, or I won't use them at all. That's how I roll. Because it wasn't until I lost my health that I realized how precious it is.
Currently, I've been using the CBD oil and Relief Cream for over one month. It's been a remarkable answer to prayer from day one! I'm no longer battling migraines, sleep disturbances, hot flashes, or waking up at night drenched in perspiration from hormonal imbalances.
In addition, I've significantly decreased my pain with Fibromyalgia, herniated discs, and arthritis. Although, I can't guarantee how you will respond to CBD oil or the Relief Cream, I do believe it's worth a try. You will never know, unless you use it yourself.
What I love is that Hempworx offers lots of choices for pain relief. I used up the entire jar of the Relief Cream fast! (Keep in mind, I use it all over my low lumbar, spine, shoulders, neck, and arms.)
As a side note, I personally think the 750 mg CBD oil works equally great, if not better, than the Relief Cream on my aches and pains. When I ran out of the Relief cream, I switched to the higher concentrated CBD oil topically. I'm loving it!
The Hempworx Relief Cream is an excellent option for muscular aches, pains, inflammation, joint pain, arthritis, bruises, scars, wounds, and injuries. Apply topically twice daily or as needed. The 750 mg CBD oil is 50% more concentrated than the 500 mg. I still find much relief orally from taking the 500 mg CBD oil twice daily; morning and evening.
You can take CBD oil orally, topically, or both. Consistency is key! Start off with a low dose of only 2-4 drops of CBD oil. Gradually, you can slowly increase one week at a time. Slow and steady wins the race!
Hempworx CBD oil & products are legal in all 50 states. It's 100% natural, non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, effective, and highly concentrated. It won't get you high, but it can get you healthy!
